Jasper's Final Day

In the fall of 2001 Tracee and I researched adopting an Irish Setter. I grew up with an setter and Tracee wanted a dog to brush and pamper. After an few interviews we qualified to adopt Jasper from an attorney in Washington, D.C. Jasper was living in a small apartment and at the time we had a fenced backyard. I still remember the night we drove to D.C. to pick him up. He was 4 years old when he came to live with us and he was 12 when he past away on Monday. He had stopped eating on Friday so we knew the end was near. Tracee held him during his last moments of life. In the end he was good dog, a little qwerky but all and all a good dog. When I got home from work I dug a grave in the front yard next to a Japanese Maple. That evening we had a small funeral service to say goodbye to a member of the family.

Sad! I recently watched Marley and Me! Talk about tear jerker. I am not going to lie when Angel girl goes I am going to be sad. Even though she is definitely quirky and annoying at times.

I'm so sorry about Jasper. Just this morning I was showing my dad your family pictures and told him you still had the 2 dogs, and now I read this. I'm really sorry, she was a good dog!
